Selena Gomez was inspired by natural beauty on Monday, as she made an Instagram post of herself not wearing any makeup. The post garnered 1 million likes within about eight minutes.

Though she has had an on-and-off presence on Instagram, Gomez is the most-followed woman on the platform, followed closely behind by Kylie Jenner.

The makeup-free selfie

Selena Gomez’s viral selfie without makeup shows the singer with a clean face and wearing a basic blank tank top. Her long, dark hair is loose around her shoulders.

“Violet chemistry,” Gomez wrote in the caption, referencing a song by Miley Cyrus — who reacted with a red heart emoticon.

Paris Hilton reacted with a heart-eyed selfie, and many fans commented that Gomez looks “gorgeous”, “flawless”, beautiful”, and “perfect”.

Gomez previously posted a fresh-faced selfie on Instagram. In February 2023, the singer posted a similar selfie, which her fans responded to in the same fashion.

“The queen is queening,” one person wrote. “There she goes in all her glory,” said another fan.

“Dear anyone hating on Selena, please do everyone a favor and unphotoshop your pictures and take natural ones before speaking,” a third fan said.

The most popular woman on Instagram

Gomez, who posted a similar makeup-free selfie in January 2023, has had several posts soar over the 1-million likes mark.

Her birthday in Italy was an extremely popular post, as was a recent picture from her childhood.

One of the most popular posts as yet has been Gomez’s posts following her kidney transplant. Gomez, after receiving a kidney from her friend, posed in a blue one-piece bathing suit and wrote a caption about her scar that was left from the surgery.

“When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar,” the singer wrote in the caption. "

I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up,” the star continued. “Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through...and I’m proud of that.”
