Apple TV+ hit series ‘Ted Lasso’ has an impressive track record with award shows, specifically the Emmy Awards. The first season was nominated 20 times at the Emmy Awards, making it the most nominated first-season comedy in Emmy History.

The show won seven out of the first 20 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for A Comedy Series.

Actor Jason Sudeikis plays the lead character, Ted Lasso, and has been nominated for numerous Emmys for his work on the show. Sudeikis also has developer and producer roles for the show.

Sudeikis won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy series in 2021. He has been nominated for six Emmy Awards for his work on ‘Ted Lasso,’ four out of the six were for the first season.

Sudeikis personally has taken home two Emmy Awards, both for Best Comedy Actor in both 2021 and 2022 for seasons one and two of ‘Ted Lasso.’

The TV show ‘Ted Lasso’ has four Emmy Awards wins. The series took home back-to-back awards in 2021 and 202 for the Outstanding Comedy Series category.

“Ted Lasso’ is also well-loved at other award shows. In both 2021 and 2022, the series took home every Critics’ Choice Television Award it was nominated for, totaling seven total wins.

The Golden Globe Awards have also taken a liking to the Apple TV+ series. ‘Ted Lasso’ has received six Golden Globe nominations and has won two in the last two years.

Jason Sudeikis is responsible for both wins, winning Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy TV series both years in a row.

‘Ted Lasso’ has received seven Screen Actor Guild Awards for seasons one and two. They won three SAG Awards, including Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series twice, and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

What about the third season?

The third and possibly final season of ‘Ted Lasso’ began on March 15 and will run until the end of May 2023. So far the season has received an overwhelmingly positive response from critics.

On Rotten Tomatoes the season has an approval rating of 94 percent with 31 reviews averaging 7.9 out of 10. Metacritic, a website that compiles reviews to find a weighted average gave the season a 72 out of 100 based on 15 different reviews.
