Rihanna’s performance at Super Bowl LVII marked her return to the stage after a five-year absence. Fans speculated the artist would reveal a world tour, new music, or a surprise guest.
As it turns out, the special guest was Rihanna’s unborn child, who the singer showed off during her performance.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their firstborn son last May
In May 2022, Rihanna and her partner A$AP Rocky welcomed their first child, a baby boy whose name has yet to be publicly revealed.
“They are keeping it a secret until they’re ready to share it with the world.” A source told news outlet Us.
“When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you can take on the world and do anything,” Rihanna said recently about her Super Bow LVII halftime show performance at a press conference with Apple Music. “It’s important for me to do this, this year. It’s important for representation, it’s important for my son to see that.”
“I love it,” A$AP Rocky said about being a dad in an interview with Complex. “Everything is just based around my newfound love for being a dad and a family man. It’s lit right now. I can’t even describe it. Yo, you see this smile! I’m all smiles right now, man.”
Eagerly awaiting baby number two
During Rihanna’s long-awaited performance at Super Bowl LVII’s halftime show, the singer’s red jumpsuit was zipped low enough to reveal her baby bump. She rubbed her belly before springing into the 13-minute medley of her greatest hits.
Fans tweeted during the performance speculating whether the singer was pregnant again until it was confirmed by a representative after the show.
A source told People that Rihanna was “super excited to confirm” her second pregnancy.
“She is ecstatic about how her show went. She felt great about performing again. She was also super excited to confirm her pregnancy,” the outlet wrote.
The couple also reportedly “wanted another baby and were trying, but the pregnancy came sooner than expected!”
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s relationship
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have known each other since 2011, with the rapper first appearing on a remix of Rihanna’s song “Cockiness (Love It)”, and later joining her on her “Diamonds” world tour in 2013. Throughout the years, they were regularly seen together, sparking dating rumors.
They officially became a couple in November 2020 and are now expecting their second child together.
