After nearly 20 years of being with his wife, Lauren Miller, Seth Rogen says the couple has never had a change of heart over their views of remaining childless.

It seems that the couple enjoys the freedom of their lifestyle without the added responsibility that they’ve seen friends and loved ones go through once making the decision to expand their family.

Seth shares many pieces of his personal life

After opening up about many parts of his personal life including how he takes bad reviews, his ADHD, his career, his advocacy for Alzheimer’s and more, Rogen mentions in a light-hearted tone that there’s a “huge thing he’s not doing… and that’s having children” before he laughs it off casually.

The interviewer, Steven Bartlett, brought up some common rebuttals child-free people receive, “Someone listening might be like, ‘Yeah, but it will make you happier.’”

To which Rogen responds: “I don’t think it would,” he says. “I’ve been around obviously a lot of children, I’m not ignorant to what it’s like. … Everyone I know has kids. I’m 40, you know? I know.”

Life without kids for Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller

The ‘Superbad’ star even goes on to say that the older he and his wife get, the happier and more reaffirmed they are in the choice not to have them. The conversation seems to steer towards how they are in the prime of their lives, having the capacity to achieve a level of work and communication between each other that they truly respect without the added difficulty of children.

Rogen confirms that he has more time to do the things he needs to do, after seeing many friends and co-workers commit their life to being a parent, it’s not something he’s interested in.

It’s a bold take on a very common debate as couples are choosing to opt out of the traditional timeline that’s expected of them when it comes to parenthood. Commenters on the video seem to largely support the couple’s decision, as well as their openness about it.
