Megan Fox shot to fame in Karyn Kusama’s 2009 comedy horror flick. ‘Jennifer’s Body’, a gory movie in which the actress plays Jennifer Check - a demonic high school student-turned-cannibal, who murders then eats her fellow classmates.
Fast forward 15 years to 2024, and the release of a new science fiction horror film Subservience in which Fox’s character has a similar dark underside. She plays Alice, an attractive and very lifelike, AI android who to has been bought by Nick (Michele Morrone), a father who is struggling after his wife falls ill.

Subservience envisions a future in which androids live alongside human beings and help them with their daily tasks. In theory, Alice’s only reason for being is to do exactly what its owners tell it to. She shows she can turn her hand to every household chore and all seems to be running smoothly until the robotic house helper malfunctions...
One day, the android decides to gain self-awareness, and for some reason, can’t think of anything else but killing all the members of the family she was supposed to serve.
Directed by S.K. Dale, Subservience has a running time of 1 hour 45 minutes and went on general release in theaters in September. It has a rating of 50% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes although some critics note that the plot is not very original and quite predictable.
In the three months since its release, has grossed $246,096 at the box office - most of that from the Russian market.
