Is Arnold Schwarzenegger joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Schwarzenegger responds when asked if he would ever make a Marvel movie.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger has made himself an icon in Hollywood through his role in the ‘Terminator’ franchise, but one thing his portfolio is missing is a Marvel superhero movie.

The 75-year-old actor recently commended his son-in-law, Chris Pratt, for his excellent work in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3′ — and now fans are curious if Schwarzenegger would ever consider starring as a Marvel hero himself.

In an interview with Men’s Health, Schwarzenegger was asked if he thought there was a possibility.

“If the role is right!” Schwarzenegger enthused.

Congratulating Pratt oh his Marvel work

Schwarzenegger posted a message on Twitter to say he was “very proud” of Pratt after seeing the latest ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ film, and that he thoroughly enjoyed the film.

“Saw #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 last night and WOW, @prattprattpratt, you crushed it,” the ‘Terminator’ actor wrote. “A non-stop, perfect mix of comedy and action. I loved it and I’m very, very proud of you.”

Pratt is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, and they share two daughters, two-year-old Lyla Maria and Eloise Christina, who is not yet a year old. Pratt also has a son from a previous marriage with Anna Ferris, Jack, who is 10 years old.

Schwarzenegger’s upcoming work

Though his next film may not be a Marvel movie, the former bodybuilder will appear in an upcoming film after a four-year break from the silver screen.

Schwarzenegger will be starring in ‘Breakout’, as per Deadline. The film is directed by Scott Waugh and Schwarzenegger will play Terry Reynolds, on a mission to free his stepfather from a foreign prison. The lead character must “must overcome an overzealous prison warden in a race against time to avoid capture and flee the country” after his stepson’s imprisonment for a framed crime,” the synopsis reads.

Schwarzenegger is also returning to ‘The Expendables 4′ with his fourth installment, alongside Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone. The crew is set to film in Europe later in 2023.
