Is Naomi Watts engaged? The actress was seen wearing an engagement ring in NYC

Naomi Watts was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her ring finger while she was out walking her dog in NYC on Thursday, sparking rumors that she’s engaged to her boyfriend, actor Billy Crudup.

The actress wore a beige blazer, over a white collared shirt and black vest, an off-white leather purse, baggy jeans, chunky black sandals, gold jewelry, and a pair of oversized sunglasses, in addition to the ring seen on her finger.

How long have Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup been dating?

Watts’ rumored fiancé didn’t join her on her afternoon stroll, but the two are rarely seen together in public. The two actors have been dating since 2017, and have worked to make their relationship as private as possible, keeping their love life out of the celebrity news.

The couple met on the set of the Netflix drama series ‘Gypsy’ as co-stars in 2017, playing the married couple Jean and Michael Holloway, respectively.

And although the couple has been spotted in rare moments walking in NYC, they didn’t make their red carpet debut until five years after they began dating, when they were photographed holding hands at the 2022 SAG Awards. Crudup was nominated for his role on the series ‘The Morning Show.’

At the 74th Emmy Awards in 2022, the couple walked the red carpet together again, as Crudup was again nominated for ‘The Morning Show’. The ‘King Kong’ actress shared a number of posts of her and her boyfriend on the red carpet on her Instagram account.

One post was captioned “What a night... What a dress... What a gent…” in a pic of the couple. Another post, where Watts showed off her dress for the evening, was captioned: “Shout out to: @Prada for the frock! Billy for the fun Glam team for the looks And @thesherylleeralph for stealing the show!”

She most recently shared a selfie of the couple with the caption “My darling ♥️” on Valentine’s Day.

Watts appeared in a recent episode of ‘The Today Show’, where co-host Hoda Kotb pointed out rings that Watts was sporting, one a chunky gold ring, and another, a diamond ring on her ring finger.

“My eye is hurting, do you see anything? There’s like a big glint coming from some ring over here,” Kotb asked her co-host Jenna Bush Hager and Watts. “It just struck me. But it’s beautiful.”

“Hoda’s asking if you’re engaged,” Bush Hager interjected.

Watts kept mum on the subject, only saying “oh, the brain fog!”
