Jaime Foxx sued for alleged sexual assault: what is said to have happened?
An unnamed woman has accused the Oscar-winning actor of sexually assaulting her in a New York restaurant in 2015.
Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has been sued for an alleged sexual assault that is claimed to have taken place at a New York City restaurant in 2015. The 55-year-old was previously accused of sexual harassment in 2018, which he denied and wasn’t prosecuted for.
According to court documents obtained by the New York Post, an unnamed woman claims the incident occurred after she and a friend approached Foxx, who was sitting at a table at Catch NYC & Roof.
Plaintiff claims assault by “intoxicated” Foxx
At around 1:00 a.m., the plaintiff’s friend is said to have asked the actor for a photo, to which he responded: “Sure, baby, anything for you.”
The trio took several photos together and Foxx, who appeared intoxicated, allegedly told the woman, “Wow, you have that supermodel body, you smell so good,” and said she looked like Gabrielle Union.
The woman then alleges that Foxx took her by the arm to the back area of the rooftop terrace where he put his hands under her shirt and touched her breasts, before going on to touch other parts of her body. The woman claims her friend then came over and saw what was happening, which prompted the actor to stop.
The plaintiff also states that several other people saw what was happening, but walked away without interfering.
Catch NYC & Roof also sued following alleged incident
According to the New York Post, the woman is suing both Foxx and the restaurant for compensatory and punitive damages, claiming she was forced to “undergo medical treatment and advice, was unable to pesure her usual and regular activities.” and will be “permanently affected by the injuries and emotional distress she incurred as a result of the sexual assault, abuse, assault and battery.”
As it stands, the actor has not commented on the alleged incident. As mentioned, the Django Unchained star denied claims made in 2018 he had sexually harassed a woman back in 2002.
Foxx sued in 2018 over alleged 2002 harassament
In a statement issued at the time to People, Foxx’s camp revealed he would be countersuing: “Jamie Foxx emphatically denies that this incident ever occurred, and he will be filing a report with the Las Vegas Police Department against the woman for filing a false police report against him.
“The alleged incident was not reported to law enforcement in 2002, or at any other time in the last sixteen years until last Friday because the incident never happened. We consider it to be extraordinarily reckless for any publication to publish this bogus story,” his lawyer said.
Foxx was not ultimately prosecuted, with Las Vegas police telling TMZ the applicable statute of limitations was three years and had long expired, with the alleged incident having taken place 16 years earlier.
