James Corden inching closer to end of run as ‘The Late Late Show’ host
‘The Late Late Show With James Corden’ is in its final few episodes.
‘The Late Late Show’ is a late-night talk show franchise that began airing in 1995. Succeeding Craig Ferguson, James Corden was announced as the new host in 2014 with his version of the show premiering in 2015.
‘The Late Late Show With James Corden’ aired 1193 episodes as of this writing and will release its final episode on April 23, 2023, after an eight-year run.
Corden is moving back to London
After the show’s end, Corden and his wife, Julia Carey, will return to London, England where the 44-year-old will seek out new opportunities.
“It’s how much you look at your professional life and your career, and your personal life and your growth as a family,” Corden said. “That’s what it is. There’s just so many other things that I’d like to try and see what I might be capable of.
“More than anything, I’ve got to go and see what’s out there.”
Corden also doesn’t see himself returning to be a talk show host again.
“I can’t envisage a scenario where I would return as a late-night host,” he said. “I’d be very, very surprised if [I] did. I’d be gobsmacked.
“This was a part of my life. But my wife and I, we always knew that this was an adventure, and not a final destination.”
