Jamie Lee Curtis hinted at a potential sequel for the 2003 film ‘Freaky Friday.’ She starred in the film alongside Lindsay Lohan, who played her on-screen daughter, Anna.

Curtis revealed to Variety in a Producers Guild Awards red carpet interview that both stars were eager to participate in a follow-up to the teen comedy film.

“It’s going to happen,” the actress enthused. “Without saying there’s anything officially happening, I’m looking at you in this moment and saying, ‘Of course it’s going to happen.’ It’s going to happen.”

Curtis also recently spoke about the sequel on an episode of The View, revealing her hopes to now play a grandma.

“Simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today,” she said. “I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world, as an old lady.”

Curtis reminisced on ‘Freaky Friday’ filming days in a recent Instagram post. She shared a photo of herself and Lohan smiling together, with Lohan’s arm around Curtis’ shoulders.

“It’s Friday. I’m just sayin! Freaky fingers crossed! @lindsaylohan @disney” reads Curtis’ caption, hinting at her willingness to reprise her role as Tess Coleman.

Lohan commented a series of emojis in support of Curtis’ sentiment. The actress, beloved for her early teen movies, recently made an acting comeback in the 2022 Netflix movie ‘Falling for Christmas.’

Many fans were overjoyed at the prospect of seeing their favorite fictional mother-daughter duo in a follow up to the first ‘Freaky Friday’ film.

“DO NOT TOY WITH MY EMOTIONS 😭😭😭😭” one fan exclaimed in the comments of Curtis’ Instagram post with Lohan.

“Does this mean we can have this on streaming officially??? I need it,” wrote another fan on Twitter, alongside a video clip of Anna’s band Pink Slip in the 2003 comedy.
