Hot on the heels of Neil Patrick Harris’ recent cameo on ‘How I Met Your Father’, Jason Segel says he would be open to bringing back Marshall Eriksen.

The 43-year-old was one of the stars of the CBS hit ‘How I Met Your Mother’, playing Eriksen for all nine seasons from 2005 to 2014.

The show followed Ted (played by Josh Radnor) as he told his children how he met their mother while living in New York City with his four best friends, including Marshall.

Segel told Entertainment Tonight that he would be more than happy to appear on the Hulu spin-off if asked.

“Those people changed my life, and I would do anything they ever asked me to,” he said.

Other ‘How I Met Your Father’ cameos

Harris recently reprised his role as Barney Stinson on the Season 2 premiere of ‘How I Met Your Father’, which debuted on January 24.

In that episode, Sophie (played by Hilary Duff) calls her mom concerned that she might be dating her father before crashing into a vehicle once the call is over.

The car belongs to Barney, who gets out and delivers one of his catchphrases from the original series: “Dude!”

Creators Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger have already told audiences that they will be seeing more of Harris throughout Season 2.

“Whenever we talk about bringing back a member of the original crew, you want it to serve two purposes: You want to give some tidbits about what is going on in their lives, where they’ve landed and where they’re at,” Aptaker told TV Line.

Harris isn’t the only ‘How I Met Your Mother’ alumni to appear in the spin off. Cobie Smulders appeared as Robin Scerbatsky in the Season 1 finale of ‘How I Met Your Father’.

Aptaker told Entertainment Weekly that they wanted to flesh out the characters on the Hulu show before bringing back members of the original cast.

“We really wanted to let people get to know [Sophie and her friends] as a crew before we started bringing in characters from the original,” said Aptaker.

“It’s been a really, really interesting balancing act to take something that’s such a huge title and so loved and try to create something that honored it and has many similarities to it but also stands on its own two feet.”

The Captain (played by Kyle MacLachlan) and his wife Becky (Laure Bell Bundy) are other original cast members to appear on the spin off.
