Jeff Bezos preparing $175 million home following Lauren Sanchez engagement
Workers were back working on the home after the expansion was brought to a halt in April.
Work on Jeff Bezos’ $175 million home has resumed following news of his engagement to Lauren Sanchez.
Workers were seen back on the roof of the three-story mega-mansion in Beverly Hills, California as per photos published by the Daily Mail on Thursday.
The 10-acre estate was previously owned by former Warner Bros. president Jack Warner, before Bezos bought it for $138 million back in early 2020.
However, work on the 28,000-square-foot house stopped back in April. The property also features a guesthouse, gym, pergola and a separate house for security.
According to the outlet, Bezos also planned to add a new pool house, powder room and retaining walls to the property.
Where Bezos and Sanchez will be staying
While work on the home continues, Bezos and Sanchez will be staying at the Malibu compound of Lester Knispel, the famed money manager of the Kardashian family, according to the outlet.
The news comes after reports emerged earlier this week that the couple got engaged while in the South of France for the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Bezos proposed with a 20-carat ring which is said to have cost around $2.5 million.
Sanchez made sure to hide the news from paparazzi during their recent trip. The pair arrived in Mallorca, Spain on May 15, with TMZ reporting the pair were already engaged by May 17.
Photos of the couple aboard Bezos’ $500 million super yacht from that day show Sanchez wearing a ring, but the diamond facing the inside of her hand.
As a result, paparazzi were unable to see the diamond when taking pictures of the couple.
Sanchez changed her approach by May 21, as news of their engagement had finally reached her close circle of friends.
The couple were then pictured arriving in Cannes, with the diamond clearly visible for all to see. She didn’t hide it when the couple were spotted out for a dinner date at La Petite Maison.
Bezos was previously married to MacKenzie Scott from 1993 to 2019, with the couple sharing four children. However, only the name of the oldest, Preston, is known to the public.
As for Sanchez, she was married to Patrick Whitesell from 2005 to 2019. She shares a son, Evan, with him, as well as Nikko, with ex Tony Gonzalez.
