Jeremy Renner reflects on traumatic snow plow incident

In Marvel Studios actor Jeremy Renner’s first late-night talk show experience since the accident, he discussed with host Jimmy Kimmel how the snow plow incident affected him.

Renner appeared on the show on Monday, April 10. His accident happened on New Year’s Day when the actor was crushed by a snow plow in an attempt to save his nephew from the same fate.

“I got eaten up under the tracks,” the ‘Hawkeye’ actor told Kimmel on Monday’s show.

“[It was] a very bad way to start the year.”

After the accident happened, Renner took to Instagram to announce what had transpired, and to send love to his fans despite all that had happened. He later posted updates on his physical healing journey, revealing that he’d broken over 30 bones that day.

Lucky for Renner, he seems to have had a smooth recovery. The actor, holding a cane, danced along to the talk show’s music before sitting down for his interview.

Renner is lucky to be alive, let alone dancing, after the 14-thousand-pound snow plow ran over him. He told Kimmel how happy he was to still be here – even able to make late-night show appearances so soon after such an intense injury.

“If there was any question as to who the toughest Avenger is, that’s settled now, right?” Kimmel joked to the ‘Avengers’ star - but Renner was quick to shut him down.

“Scarlett Johansson,” he replied.

Renner also thanked his family for their constant care while he recovered, and mentioned that he only realized how intense of a situation he was in when he started receiving texts from friends.

“Everyone’s acting like this is like an open casket, and you’re living through it,” Renner told Kimmel.

He continued, joking, “[they are] terrible actors, they couldn’t hide the fact that I looked awful.”
