Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2024 Oscars: how many times has he presented them before?
Jimmy Kimmel will return as Oscar host for the second consecutive year for next year’s awards in a year disrupted by the writer and actor’s strike.
The 96th edition of the Oscars has a presenter and he is a familiar face, having hosted the ceremony in previous years. Once again, Jimmy Kimmel, will present the Academy Awards, this time on 10 March, 2024 at the Dolby Theater.
“We are thrilled to have Jimmy return as host and Molly [Jimmy’s wife] return as executive producer of the Oscars. They share our love of movies and our commitment to producing a dynamic and entertaining show for our global audience,” said Bill Kramer and Janet Yang of the Academy.

Who is Jimmy Kimmel, the host of the 2024 Oscars?
Jimmy Kimmel is a comedian, actor, host, screenwriter and television producer. He is known for being the executive producer and host of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, on the ABC network.
He is also known for participating in productions such as 'The Man Show' and 'Win Ben's Steins Money'. In addition, he is the winner of an Emmy for Best Variety Special (Live) for 'Live In Front Of A Studio Audience': for ' All In The Family' and'The Jeffersons' by Norman Lear.
How many times has Kimmel presented the Oscars?
Kimmel previously hosted the Oscars in 2017, 2018 and 2023. When Kimmel hosted the Oscars in 2017, he earned an Emmy nomination for Best Special Class Program.
In 2017, when he was the presenter for the first time, the Oscars made headlines after the confusion in which the Best Picture award was awarded to ‘La La Land’ instead of the real winner, ‘Moonlight’.
For hosting in 2018, she received an Emmy nomination for Best Variety Special (Live).
