Although ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ won’t hit theaters until March 24, critics who have already seen the film have made it clear they’re big fans of the neo-noir action thriller movie.

‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ getting rave reviews

The film boasts an impressive 93 percent critical rating from 103 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing, which is a new high for the ‘John Wick’ franchise.

“‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ piles on more of everything -- and suggests that when it comes to a well-dressed Keanu Reeves dispatching his enemies in lethally balletic style, there can never be too much,’ reads the critical consensus on the website.

How does ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ stack up to previous films?

Comparing the newest entry to previous films shows just how impressive the rating is.

‘John Wick’ received an 86 percent critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes when it was released back in 2014.

‘John Wick: Chapter 2′ and ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum’ each got an 89 percent rating on the website when they were released in 2017 and 2019 respectively.

As for the audience scores, we’ll have to wait to see how Chapter 4 matches up in that department.

The first film received an 81 percent rating, followed by 85 percent for Chapter 2. The third film in the franchise holds the highest rating with an 86 percent score.

‘John Wick’ franchise has grown at the box office

Along with strong critical ratings, the ‘John Wick’ franchise has also delivered when it comes to box office numbers.

After the first film earned $88.7 million worldwide, Chapter 2 almost doubled that figure, earning $171.5 million around the world.

‘John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum’ smashed those figures, earning $326.7 million around the world.

Early opening weekend projections suggest ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ is on track to establish a series-high at the box office.

The projections state the film will earn anywhere between $60 million and $70 million, which would beat ‘Chapter 3 - Parabellum’s’ current record of $56.8 million during its premiere.
