Actor Jonathan Majors was arrested this morning, on Saturday, March 25. He faces charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment.

Majors allegedly engaged in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend on Friday. A TMZ insider claims the girlfriend tried sneaking a peek at Majors’ phone after seeing that he was texting another woman, which made the actor angry.

“The victim informed police she was assaulted,” stated an NYPD spokesperson in a statement to the public. The victim’s name has not been publicized, rather identified only as a 30-year-old woman.

“Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident.”

Police responded to the domestic dispute call made by the alleged victim this Saturday morning, around 11 am. According to The Associated Press, Majors was released from custody by Saturday night.

“The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition,” detailed the NYPD.

Jonathan Majors’ team claims he is innocent

In a statement emailed to AP Press, a representative of the actor announced that Majors’ team hopes to clear his name. They assert that Majors did nothing wrong, and maintain that he is innocent.

“He has done nothing wrong,” Majors’ representative declared.

They continued, “we look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”

Jonathan Majors was considered one of Hollywood’s most notable up-and-comers

Majors has already starred in numerous notable Hollywood titles this year, including ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, where he played Kang the Conqueror, and ‘Creed III’, in the role of Damian Anderson.

He also caught the attention of many notable directors, including Jordan Peele and Spike Lee. Both directors have since cast Majors in film projects.

Majors got his big career break in 2019 when he starred in ‘The Last Black Man in San Francisco’. The actor attended Yale School of Drama, graduating only three years prior to this role.
