Juror reveals how long it took to rule in favor of Gwyneth Paltrow
It didn’t take the jury very long to agree that Gwyneth Paltrow wasn’t at fault for a 2016 ski collision.
Gwyneth Paltrow prevailed in the civil trial relating to a 2016 ski collision, and a juror has revealed just how long it took them to decide the actress wasn’t at fault.
Retired optometrist Terry Sanderson sued the 50-year-old over injuries he said he sustained when the two collided at the Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah back in 2016.
The jury found Paltrow was not liable, while also ruling in her favor in her counterclaim against Sanderson.
Although the jury deliberated for a little over two hours before returning with their verdict, a juror has revealed it didn’t take them very long to decide Paltrow wasn’t at fault.

Sam Imrie was part of the eight-person jury for the trial, and she told CNN that it “took us less than 20 minutes to say Gwyneth was not at fault.”
While they quickly reached an agreement on the matter, the jury deliberated for as long as they did because they went through the nine questions on the verdict form.
“It was really interesting to see that we were all on the same page,” she said.
Imrie added that expert witness Dr. Irving Scher stood out for her, as he testified that Paltrow’s version of events was the most probable.
Paltrow’s statement after the trial
Although Paltrow didn’t speak with the media after the trial, her attorneys did release a statement on her behalf.
“I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity. I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case,” Paltrow said.
Her attorney, Steve Owens, also released a statement.
“We are pleased with this unanimous outcome and appreciate the judge and jury’s thoughtful handling of the case,” he said. “Gwyneth has a history of advocating for what she believes in – this situation was no different and she will continue to stand up for what is right.”
The statements came after Paltrow was seen placing her hand on Sanderson’s shoulder and whispering to him as she left the courtroom.
“I wish you well,” she said, with Sanderson responding, “Thank you, dear.”
