Kaley Cuoco believes her baby daughter will be an actress

Actress Kaley Cuoco gave birth to her first child on March 30, a daughter named Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey, whom she shares with boyfriend Tom Pelphrey.

The 37-year-old told Emmy Magazine that she believes her daughter will become an actress based on her experience while filming ‘Based on a True Story’ in which Cuoco insisted her pregnancy be written into the show.

“I’m like, ‘What if this character was pregnant? And they’re like, ‘Umm …’ and I’m like, ‘Think really hard about it because maybe it’s a really good idea — and it might be the only option,” Cuoco said.

“They were looking at me, and I’m smiling, and they all went, ‘Oh, my God, are you pregnant?’ I’m like, ‘Uh-huh.’”

Filming while pregnant

The series was filmed while Cuoco was in her second trimester.

“What I love is they didn’t change the character,” she said. “The show is super edgy, and none of that changed because I was pregnant.

“I have belly shirts on, and I’m in my bra, and there are sex scenes, where we have my photo double come in. We had to build this amazing stomach for her.”

Apparently, Matilda kicked hard enough to make Cuoco’s co-star Ever Carradine jump. Cuoco thinks of that moment as Matilda’s “in utero acting debut”.

“I don’t know how she won’t [become an actress]. The child already thinks she’s the star of everything,” Cuoco said. “It’s in her genes.”

Announcing Matilda’s birth

Cuoco announced the birth of her daughter via an Instagram post.

“Introducing, Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey, the new light of our lives!” she wrote.

“We are overjoyed and grateful for this little miracle. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, family, and friends who have helped us immensely over the last few days. We are blessed beyond belief @tommypelphrey didn’t think I could fall even more in love with you, but I did.”
