Kaley Cuoco’s 40th birthday: What we know about the ‘Big Bang Theory’ actor’s fiancé and wedding plans
Cuoco, the star of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘The Flight Attendant’, has been engaged to ‘Task’ actor Tom Pelphrey since 2024.
Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco, who celebrates her 40th birthday today, says she and fiancé Tom Pelphrey aren’t in any rush to firm up their wedding plans.
“Really focused” on daughter
Speaking to People magazine this week, Cuoco said preparations for the couple’s nuptials are “a little back-burner”. In the immediate future, she added, their sights are set on raising their two-year-old daughter - and expanding their family.
“We want to have more kids, and we’re really focused on Matilda,” said Cuoco, an actor who has earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her performance in the HBO series The Flight Attendant.
Having confirmed her relationship with fellow screen star Pelphrey in early 2022, Cuoco announced the pair’s engagement in August last year. In March 2023, she had given birth to Matilda, the couple’s first child.
Nuptials on the beach?
Life & Style has reported that Cuoco and Pelphrey are eyeing the Mexican seaside as a wedding destination, and want Matilda to have a major role to play in the ceremony.
“[Cuoco] jokes that since it’s definitely her last wedding, she wants it to be extra special,” an insider told the outlet in December last year.
“They’re planning it for the summer, on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They’ll both wear white and be barefoot.”
“Love at first sight”
A two-time divorcée, Cuoco had previously vowed not to re-marry. “I would love to have a long-lasting relationship or a partnership,” she told an interview with Glamour magazine in April 2022. “But I will never get married again. Absolutely not. You can literally put that on the cover.”
However, Cuoco has described Pelphrey - an actor best known for series such as Ozark and Task - as a partner who has “totally changed me”.
In an interview with USA Today in May 2022, in which she lauded Pelphrey as the “love of my life”, Cuoco revealed that the couple were set up by manager Andrea Pett-Joseph, who represents both performers.
“We met at the Ozark premiere, and I was standing with Andrea and Tom walked in, and I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting,” Cuoco said.
“It hit me. It was love at first sight. We were immediately connected. I do feel like I’ve known him my whole life, but I wasn’t ready for him. We’re ready to build a life together.”

Before getting together with Pelphrey, Cuoco was married to tennis player Ryan Sweeting from 2013 to 2016, and to show jumper Karl Cook from 2018 to 2022.
