Kate Middleton took some time to herself Monday, but the Princess of Wales chose to visit a local baby bank in need of some extra attention.

The quickly growing charity provides essential items to families in need. Since opening in 2015 by two local mothers, the organization has collected donations from the community and served more than 21,500 people.

Kids grow up so fast

The princess met with volunteers at the baby bank close to her home at Windsor Castle, where she chatted mother-to-mother with the patrons and volunteers at the local charity.

Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, share three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, who just turned five years old.

“It only feels like yesterday that they were this tiny. They do grow so quickly,” Princess Kate commented to the staff.

Lauren Hall, who is a staff member at the baby bank, said she invited the Wales children down to the baby bank to play with the other children and even offered a playdate with her own child.

“I said I would bring my 5-year-old to play with Louis. They can keep each other occupied,” Hall said. “I think Louis here would be awesome. They can choose which toys the children should have.

What toy does Princess Charlotte play with?

While she was there, Middleton asked about what the organization was doing to support local families in need but also took some time to socialize with the people at the baby bank that day.

After noticing a Buzz Lightyear toy that was delivered, the princess revealed her daughter’s favorite toys.

“[Princess Charlotte is a] huge fan of Toy Story,” Middleton said.

Middleton’s initiatives to help the children

Middleton has actively helped several other charities before, with a special emphasis on babies and small children, through her charity the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which she launched in 2021.

A year prior to founding the organization the Princess of Wales collected 10,000 new items donated by multiple brands to more than 40 baby banks in the United Kingdom.

“Over recent months, I have heard from families who have been supported by baby banks through the most difficult of times and I have been deeply moved by their stories,” the princess said about the campaign.

“Having somewhere to turn to for support is important for all families, and baby banks work every day, up and down the country, to provide immediate, tangible, and practical help for parents and carers when they are most in need.”
