Lyrics to 'Woman's World' by Katy Perry

As a publicity strategy for the launch of her new single, the 39-year-old singer embodied the lyrics of the song on a 100-yard train attached to a dress she wore at the start of Paris Fashion Week. As well, she shared fragments of it via social media. Below are the full lyrics of ‘Woman’s World’ by Katy Perry.

[Intro]

It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it

[Verse 1]

Sexy, confident

So intelligent

She is heaven-sent

So soft, so strong

[Pre-chorus]

She’s a winner, champion

Superhuman, number one

She's a sister, she's mother

Open your eyes, just look around and you'll discover

You know

[Chorus]

It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it

Uh-huh, uh-huh

It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it

Uh-huh, uh-huh

You better celebrate

'Cause, baby, we ain't going away

It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it

Uh-huh, uh-huh

[Verse 2]

Fire in her eyes

Feminine divine

She was born to shine

To shine, to shine

[Pre-Chorus]

She's a flower, she's a thorn

Superhuman, number one

She's a sister, she's mother

Open your eyes, just look around and you'll discover

You know

[Chorus]

It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it

Uh-huh, uh-huh

It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it

Uh-huh, uh-huh

You better celebrate

'Cause, baby, we ain't going away

It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it

Uh-huh, uh-huh

[Outro]

Lucky to be living in it

Lucky to be living in it

That's right

It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it

Uh-huh, uh-huh

Meaning of Katy Perry's 'Woman's World'

According to the music portal Genius, Woman’s World’ has the objective of becoming a anthem to empower women and celebrate their existence, in addition to visualizing the growing prominence of the female gender in society and its influence in the modern world.

“Under this roof, I can safely say it’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to be living in it,” Perry said during a speech at the Women In Music from Billboard.

Controversy with Dr. Luke

Although the song has generated great expectations among Katy Perry fans, ‘Woman’s World’ has been involved in controversy due to one particular person behind its production: Dr. Luke, who in the past has been accused of sexual assault by Kesha.

According to the ‘Tiktok’ singer, she suffered physical, sexual and emotional abuse during her working relationship with the producer. Dr. Luke, whose full name is Łukasz Sebastian Gottwald, denied the accusations and countersued Kesha for defamation. The two had been locked in a bitter legal battle until they reached a settlement in June 2023, just a month before the case was due to go to trial.

She has received blowback from fans on social media and even in person for the apparent hypocrisy of ‘Woman’s World’ being a song about female empowerment but that it was produced by someone who has been accused of sexual assault.
