Kelsea Ballerini stops concert to ask for Taylor Swift update
Kelsea Ballerini has performed with Taylor Swift in the past, and it’s clear she’s still a fan of the singer.
Taylor Swift’s return to the stage isn’t just a big deal for her millions of fans, with fellow musicians also keen to know what’s going on with the ‘Eras Tour’.
Kelsea Ballerini is a Swiftie
Kelsea Ballerini is currently touring the United States for her ‘Heartfirst Tour’, and she stopped in Atlantic City, New Jersey over the weekend for a gig.
However, the singer, like so many music fans, couldn’t help but be distracted by Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’, which kicked off with back-to-back shows in Glendale, Arizona over the weekend.
While performing in the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena, Ballerini admitted to the crowd that she’s also been drawn into the constant updates flooding social media about Swift’s shows.
“Can I just level with you for a minute? Is anyone stalking the Eras Tour? Has it started?” Ballerini asked the crowd.
“I’m gonna stalk it after this but I just have one question. Has she … is ‘Cruel Summer’ on the setlist?”
Excited fans in attendance let Ballerini know that Swift did play the track, which was music to her ears.
“It is?!” said Ballerini, blowing a kiss and bowing down. “Wow, that’s my Super Bowl, I gotta be honest. Alright. Wow. That’s all I needed to know. Thank you for that. Live updates.”
It’s no surprise Ballerini asked for an update, as she’s been a noted Swiftie for years. The 29-year-old even performed with Swift during the ‘1989 World Tour’ when it came to Nashville, Tennessee in 2015.
She isn’t the only star who’s a big fan of Swift. Emma Stone was in the audience for Friday night’s show at State Farm Stadium, and she was certainly having a good time as the singer sang ‘You Belong with Me’ and ‘Fearless’.
‘Eras Tour’ could generate record figures
Swift’s opening two performances were the talk of social media over the weekend. She didn’t disappoint fans, as the first show of her ‘Eras Tour’ lasted over three hours.
Touching on all the big moments of her career, Swift performed a total of 44 songs, with the lengthy setlist divided into sections corresponding to one of her 10 albums, though they weren’t performed chronologically.
The tour, which has only just begun, is expected to generate huge figures, with Forbes predicting Swift will make at least $570 million.
Should she hit that figure, Swift will break the record for the highest-grossing female tour of all time, which is currently held by Madonna, who made $407 million from the ‘Sticky & Sweet’ tour in 2008/2009.
