Kim Kardashian prepares for the upcoming Met Gala after she believed she wouldn’t be invited
After the Kardashians were said not to receive an invite, it turns out they will be attending the Met Gala after all.
The Met Gala is just around the corner, and Kim Kardashian is getting ready for the big event. While it was initially reported that the Kardashians weren’t invited to this year’s gala, a source told Page Six earlier this month that Kim would indeed be attending, with yesterday’s post firmly confirming her spot on the Met Museum steps.
Her trip to Paris confirms the attendance
The reality star shared some behind-the-scenes snaps of her recent trip to Paris on Instagram, where she prepped for the gala with none other than Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette.
Kardashian wore the designer’s black iridescent patent trench coat in the photos as she lounged on a bed with the Birman cat, who recently starred in a Vogue shoot with Naomi Campbell.
“Had a date with Choupette Lagerfeld in Paris,” Kim captioned her April 26 Instagram, referring to Karl’s beloved Birman cat. “We then spent some time at @karllagerfeld’s office to get a little inspiration for the Met.”
Will Choupette attend the Met?
A few photos in Kim’s Instagram carousel showed behind-the-scenes moments of her looking at a collage of design sketches, black-and-white photographs, and magazine cutouts. She also got to hang out with Choupette in a lavish bed that featured gold ornamentation with floral wallpaper and matching canopy bed curtains.
Choupette’s agent exclusively confirmed to The Post that she was invited to this year’s gala, but stopped short of promising her attendance. “She got the invitation,” the My Pet Agency owner said, adding, “It’s an event in honor of the legacy of Karl, and Choupette is obviously a central part of the legacy.” We’ll have to wait and see if Choupette hits the catwalk on Monday.
