Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are expecting baby number two together
Harington announced the news that their family is growing while appearing on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’
‘Game of Thrones’ actor Kit Harington revealed in a recent interview that he and his wife Rose Leslie are expecting their second child together.
The announcement comes two years after they welcomed their first baby boy. Harington revealed that his son is going to have “the shock of his life” when he finally realizes he’s becoming a big brother.
“I’m not sure he’s quite conceptually understood it just yet,” Harington said on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’. “We’re trying to get him ready for it. We point at Rose’s tummy and we say, ‘Mommy’s baby,’ and he points at his tummy and goes, ‘My baby.’”
As for how the 36-year-old actor feels about fatherhood the second time around, he jokes and says he’s “terrified.”
“With the first baby, you’re like walking on clouds and dancing through fields of daisies for nine months—Well, the man is anyway. But this time, the reality check comes much shorter. You get practical real quick.”
History of Kit Harington and Rose Leslie
Leslie and Harington originally met at work when they both worked on ‘Game of Thrones’ and coincidentally played their characters’ love interests.
While Harington was a series regular as Jon Snow, Leslie appeared in multiple episodes between Season 2 and 4 as Ygritte, but was ultimately killed off in 2014.
But to fans’ surprise the two actors later revealed they were having an offscreen romance, up until they quickly split in 2013 and got back together in 2014.
Five years later the happy couple got engaged, despite Harington having a slight problem during the special moment.
“I did have some plans to do it, I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff …” he told British TV host Jonathan Ross. “But we were in the country and we were under this beautiful night sky and had a log fire burning and red wine, and I blew my load early. … Sorry, that’s a really bad expression!”
“I was meant to do it the day after with the lights. What I meant to say was, I popped my question a bit early,” Harington clarified. “Not blew my load.”
Restasure Leslie said yes to Harington’s proposal and the two tied the knot in June 2018. And the duo expanded their family in February 2021 when they welcomed their first child together.
