Kristin Cavallari on sheltering children from fame
The ‘The Hills’ alum won’t let her kids have social media yet — or appear on reality television.
Kristin Cavallari is determined to bring her children up in a far different environment than she did — out of the Hollywood limelight.
The former ‘The Hills’ star refused to allow her three children to even have an Instagram account, nevermind have a career in the Hollywood entertainment industry.
“I would say no until they’re 18,” Cavallari told Jennifer Hudson on her talk show.
Kristin Cavallari on parenting
The ‘Laguna Beach’ actress, who is 36 years old, appeared on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ to talk parenting.
While she was there, Cavallari explained she didn’t think it was a good idea to bring her children, Camden, who is 10 years old, Jaxon, who is eight years old, and seven-year-old Saylor, up in the spotlight, and definitely not on reality television.
“Listen, if they want to pursue a career in entertainment when they’re 18, absolutely I will support it,” the reality star said. “But until they’re 18, I want them just to be kids.”
“It’s hard enough being in high school and doing everything that you’re doing as a kid, so just focus on that, and we’ll cross that bridge when it comes,” Cavallari continued.
Cavallari’s children not to be tv stars
Her two sons, the oldest children have not yet asked their mother if they could do reality television, but they did ask if they can start their own YouTube channel, as the boys are “obsessed with YouTube stars”.
“No, we’re not doing that,” the mother-of-three responded. “I don’t even put them on Instagram.”
“I just try to keep them, kids, as long as possible.”
Family expansion?
Kristen Cavallari hosted an open-panel Q&A session on Instagram in August 2022, where she addressed fans’ questions personally.
One person asked if she was open to having any more babies.
“I’m not looking to have more,” Cavallari responded.
“BUT if I met someone who didn’t have kids then I would have one more.”
