Kylie Jenner faces backlash for ‘sexualizing Easter’

Kylie Jenner is facing backlash for a series of Easter selfies she posted to her Instagram story on Sunday. The beauty mogul and reality star posted a series of sultry selfies wearing a sheer pastel green dress.

The dress is a form-fitting vintage pastel green Jean Paul Gaultier piece that features a low-cut neckline and a sheer skirt. Jenner accessorized the dress with slip-on flats and a statement ring in the same shade.

The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star posted two sultry selfies in the dress. She is seen holding an Easter basket with eggs and daisy flowers inside in one, and another with her eyes closed and back arched as she basks in the sun.

Jenner captioned the post ‘happy easter.’ She also posted another set of photos to Instagram, mostly of her family and children celebrating Easter, but also included one more selfie of her in the dress.

After Jenner posted the series of photos, several fans flocked to her comments accusing her of trying to “sexualize” the religious holiday.

“Really? You can’t skip one day? Its Easter. How about just a cute family pic,” one user wrote and included an eye-rolling emoji.

“Give it a rest it’s Easter,” another user wrote with two more eye-rolling emojis.

“Do you have to sexualize Easter too,” one comment with 119 likes said.

“It’s Resurrection day get over yourself,” another commenter wrote.

Jenner has yet to reply to any of the comments, however, comments on all of her Instagram posts have been limited.

Rumored relationship

Several other of Jenner’s commenters inquired about the Kylie Cosmetics founder’s relationship status. Just last week, rumors began to circulate that Jenner was romantically involved with actor Timothée Chalamet.

According to celebrity gossip Instagram Deux Moi, the couple has been an item since January. However, neither Jenner nor Chalamet has confirmed the alleged relationship.

News of a new romantic relationship comes just days after US Weekly reported that sources close to Jenner and Travis Scott “aren’t done for good.”

“Kylie’s friends genuinely don’t believe that her and Travis are done for good,” a source told the outlet. “They’ve always had an on-and-off relationship, so this is nothing new to them. They truly feel like the love is still there and that they’ll find their way back to each other again.”
