The woman who was involved in the dog napping of Lady Gaga’s two French bulldogs is now suing the singer for not paying the promised reward money of $500,000.

In an odd turn of events, Jennifer McBride, the woman who was charged in connection with the theft, is now suing Lady Gaga for not living up to her promise of rewarding whoever found her dogs $500,000, which was posted on her Instagram account back in 2021.

A violent theft

Lady Gaga’s dogs, Koji and Gustav, were taken in a violent kidnapping on February 24, 2021. Dog walker and friend of the artist Ryan Fischer was shot four times in the chest while taking the dogs on a routine evening walk.

A third dog, named Miss Asia, stayed in Fischer’s arms as he bled on a West Hollywood sidewalk, running away before she was later found. Fischer luckily survived, but not without sustaining major injuries.

In December 2022, Fischer made an Instagram post sharing his impact statement in court, where he added that he was also beaten and strangled during the altercation. He suffered a lung collapse and has been going to physical therapy to regain the feeling in his shoulder since the attack.

He names James Howard Jackson in his statement, who has since received a 21-year prison sentence for the attack and involvement in the theft.

Who is Jennifer McBride?

Jennifer McBride claims she returned the dogs two days after they were taken to the Los Angeles Police Department Olympic Community station.

McBride was charged with three different charges in relation to the alleged crime. She was charged in connection to the theft, with having received stolen property and being an accessory to the crime.

It has since come out that at the time, she was dating the father of one of the men who attacked Ryan Fischer. However, McBride pled no contest and only received 2 years probation.

Two years after the ordeal, McBride is now suing Lady Gaga for not delivering on her promise to pay whoever returned her dogs $500k. McBride also reportedly wants the court to triple the damages to $1.5 million because Gaga posted a misleading reward.

Lady Gaga’s reps have yet to comment on the lawsuit.
