Logan Paul made headlines on Saturday by surprising fans and stealing the show at the WWE Royal Rumble.

The annual event sees 30 competitors introduced into the ring in a random order, with the final wrestler left standing crowned the winner and awarded a world championship match at WrestleMania.

Saturday’s show saw Paul return to the ring for the first time since suffering a knee injury during his WWE Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia in November.

Paul entered the 30-man Royal Rumble as the 29th participant, and had an electric moment with high-flyer Ricochet that fans won’t soon forget.

As Paul entered the ring he was greeted by punches from Austin Theory, Seth Rollins and Ricochet, but managed to get away from them and also avoid elimination from big man Braun Strowman.

At one point Paul was on the apron before locking eyes with Ricochet, who was on the apron on the other side of the ring.

After the two gave each other a head nod, they launched their bodies at each other and collided mid-air in the middle of the ring.

The double springboard clothesline drew a huge reaction from the live crowd inside the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Although both men were eventually eliminated, it proved to be one of the best moments of the match and of the entire event.

Cody Rhodes, who was the last wrester to enter the Royal Rumble, came out victorious after eliminating WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther. He’ll now challenge for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium.

Paul has impressed in WWE

Paul has looked impressive during his WWE run, as his match against Reigns at Crown Jewel received praise despite it being just the second singles match of his pro wrestling career.

Saturday was Paul’s first appearance at the Royal Rumble, but he may get some additional help in the future after telling Fox Sports that he could soon be joined by younger brother Jake Paul.

“Truthfully, I think it’s inevitable. I’m biased, but I think what we’re doing is incredibly exciting, at least for me, personally, it is incredibly exciting,” said Logan.

“If I were watching two brothers take over, and I use that word intentionally, take over two highly entertaining sports, boxing and wrestling in a way that has never been done before, my curiosity would be piqued. We’re making history as we speak, and I think Jake’s crossover into WWE is inevitable.”
