Madonna reveals new boyfriend, 29-year-old Josh Popper
The artist posted a picture of the two sharing a kiss on her Instagram stories
After it was reported that Madonna had broken up with her boyfriend of five months, 23-year-old skateboarder and model Andrew Darnell in February, the queen of pop is in a new relationship, this time with Josh Popper.
Popper is a 29-year-old boxer from New York City. Madonna made the relationship news official when she shared a picture of the two kissing on her Instagram stories.
When did the two start dating?
Madonna was first spotted by Popper’s side at a boxing match in the Big Apple, with Popper sharing pictures of the two on his Instagram account on February 12.
The pictures were posted during a time when Madonna was presumably in the midst of ending her relationship with Darnell, which officially ended on February 25. On the breakup, a source told PageSix: “It was only a very casual thing so she’s not broken-hearted. It’s just that it has come at a bad time.”
An unnamed source also told Hollywood Life that “[Madonna] has never really let age affect her decision on who to date and who not to date and it is not like Madonna is going to settle down, nor does she want to.”
On March 3, the artist was spotted dressed low-key as she cheered Popper on during one of his fights, where she shared pics of her outfit where she wore a hat that said “spiritually hungry”.
Most recently the ‘Hung Up’ singer posted a picture of the couple embracing and kissing in matching all-black outfits in her Instagram stories.
Who is Josh Popper?
Josh Popper currently works as a boxing coach at Bredwinners, a boxing gym founded by Popper in 2021 and focuses on training people in the fundamentals of boxing.
Popper also appeared in the latest season of ‘Summer House’, a BravoTV show that follows nine friends during their stay at a summer house in Montauk, New York. In the show, he played himself and trained the guests of the summer house.
