Margot Robbie gave Ryan Gosling daily gifts while they filmed ‘Barbie’ together
The 42-year-old actor opened up about his time on the movie set and what gifts he got.
It’s been revealed by the cast that the ‘Barbie’ set was a fun time, but Ryan Gosling got the star treatment when he received gifts every day from a certain co-star.
In an interview with Vogue, Gosling revealed that Barbie herself, Margot Robbie, left him daily presents to help them get into character.
Robbie even went the extra step to make her gifts look like they came from Barbie, making them pink with bows.
“She left a pink present with a pink bow, from Barbie to Ken, every day while we were filming,” Gosling said. “They were all beach-related. Like puka shells, or a sign that says ‘Pray for surf.’”
What can fans expect from Ken
When the official posters and trailer were released it was made clear that Barbie is the main character with tags such as “This Barbie is President”, “This Barbie is a Mermaid”, “This Barbie is a doctor”, “This Barbie has a Nobel Prize in physics”, and more, all the Kens seemed to get the tag “He’s just Ken”.
Playing off of the promotional posters tags that Barbie is everything, Gosling explained to Vogue that “Ken’s job is just beach.”
“I’ve never quite figured out what that means. But I felt like she was trying to help Ken understand, through these gifts that she was giving.”
Although Gosling might not know much about the direction of his character, Robbie stepped in saying that the Barbie movie is “the greatest version of Ryan Gosling ever put on screen.”
Who stars in the upcoming Barbie movie?
The upcoming Greta Gerwig film is set to release in theaters on July 21.
According to the official synopsis, the film follows Barbie after being expelled from Barbieland for being a less-than-perfect-looking doll, setting off for the human world to find true happiness.
