Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to give their children royal titles hasn’t gone over well with Megyn Kelly.

The Sussexes first used the titles after Lilibet was christened in early March in a small and intimate ceremony at their Montecito, California home.

“The children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrote in a statement.

“This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace.”

Prior to the change, Archie and Lilibet were referred to as ‘master’ and ‘miss’ Mountbatten-Windsor on the Buckingham Palace.

Now, they go by ‘Prince Archie of Sussex’ and ‘Princess Lilibet of Sussex’, and are sixth and seventh in line to the throne.

Kelly hits out at Harry and Meghan

Speaking with Sky News Australia, Kelly slammed Harry and Meghan, stating they need the royal titles in order to “pay the bills”.

“That’s all they have to pay the bills and make themselves interesting,” said Megyn. “Their only currency is those titles.

“Their approval ratings are through the floor, they went down even lower in America and in the UK, over the past couple of months.

“Calling your kid prince and princess ain’t gonna help.”

Kelly added that Harry has gone down 37 points in popularity in the United Kingdom, with Meghan down 31 points.

She then took aim at Meghan, stating that she is happy to take what being a royal has to offer before bashing the institution.

“She’s such a grifter… she will cash the check... and wear the fancy dress, but as soon as she gets famous she’ll bash them as having objectified her,” she said.

“As soon as she’s able, she gives her children royal titles of Prince and Princess. Which, by the way, is not universal.”

Harry and Meghan not expected to be part of the coronation process

Kelly’s comments come following reports Harry and Meghan won’t be part of the coronation process at the upcoming ceremony on May 6.

The Times of London are reporting that The Sussexes will watch the royal procession from the sidelines, if they even attend.

Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, haven’t been invited to the event.
