Meryl Streep confirms her return as ‘Miranda Priestly’ in the sequel to ‘The Devil Wears Prada’

It’s official now. After months of speculation and after an unexpected reunion of the cast at this year’s SAG Awards, the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada is officially confirmed.

According to the Deadline scoop, Disney is working on the sequel to director David Frankel’s 2006 film. Aline Brosh McKenna, screenwriter of the first film, has already been confirmed to resume her role and take charge of the second installment.

Although the representatives of the studio have not wanted to comment on the matter, Meryl Streep has already confirmed her return as the emblematic editor of a fashion magazine: Miranda Priestly.

The news was revealed through a post on Instagram where she shared an image of her famous character under the description “Miranda will return”, accompanied by a heart emoji. So far, the post has more than 20 thousand likes on the social network, in addition to hundreds of comments expressing excitement for Streep’s return.

Although it is not yet confirmed, it is expected that the second installment will also feature the participation of Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt, given that, in the past, the actress of 'The Princess Diaries' was curious about the outcome of his character, 'Andy Sachs'.
