Streep on Norton

Some years ago, the actress appeared as a special guest on UK chat show ‘The Graham Norton Show’ and revealed that her real name is Mary Louise Streep but was always called Meryl with her father making the name up although the actress confesses she hated the name and was keen to be called ‘Cathy’ or ‘Patty’.

Streep also wondered why she couldn’t have had ‘Street’ as a surname rather than her actual ‘Streep’ name.
