Michelle Rodriguez has revealed that the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise is considering its options moving forward — and the “ideas are flying”.

The franchise could go in a number of different directions, and the heavyweights behind the project are brainstorming about what the future might look like for Dom, Letty, and friends.

Rodriguez plays the role of Letty in the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies, alongside Vin Diesel who plays the role of head honcho Dom.

Optimistic about the future

The 44-year-old actress told the Hollywood Reporter she was optimistic about the future of the franchise — though no one really knows what that may look like yet.

“Right now it’s literally the throw up of all of the possibilities, all of the seeds planted throughout the years that have now flourished into trees,” Rodriguez mused. “Now, it’s about pruning. We’re in the pruning process. All of the ideas are flying by and all of the input is being thrown in.”

Rodriguez’s comments on the director

Rodriguez explained that the franchise’s latest director, Louis Leterrier, who was at the helm of ‘Fast X’, is excited about all the potential.

“Louis, our new captain, he’s got his hands full, but he’s excited, he’s like a little kid,” the actress revealed. “You should see him, out on the weekend going to the theaters just trying to see what people respond to.”

Rodriguez had previously told the same publication that the new director was full of energy and was already a huge fan of the ‘Fast’ franchise.

“He came with all this energy of love,” Rodriguez said at the time. “We haven’t had that in ‘Fast & Furious’ for a very long time where we get somebody excited who’s a real fan and who really wants to take it places that it hasn’t gone before.”

We’ve been at it for 20 years,” the actress marveled. “After all that time, you get jaded and kind of forget what you do it for [until] a director like Louis comes in and reminds you, ‘This is beautiful. Let’s go make magic.’ We’re so lucky to have him.”
