Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’ makes Spotify history, hits a billion streams

Miley Cyrus’ smash hit ‘Flowers’ continues to break records.

The track, which is the lead single from Miley’s ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ and was released back on January 12, has become the fastest song to reach a billion streams on Spotify.

“Some Flowers never fade,” Spotify wrote in a Twitter post which celebrated the achievement.

The song, which was produced by Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson, hit the benchmark in a record 112 days.

The duo also achieved massive success in 2022 thanks to Harry Styles and his Grammy Award-winning album, ‘Harry’s House’.

The record was previously shared by Harry Styles for ‘As It Was’ and Justin Bieber’s collaboration with The Kid LAROI, ‘Stay’. The two tracks hit the milestone after 118 days.

It’s also Cyrus’ second song to join the billions club after ‘Party In The U.S.A.’

Cyrus showed her appreciation by thanking her fans via an Instagram video, captioning it with: “Thanks a billion. I love you.”

Miley sported a high-cut gold bathing suit and posed in a field of flowers for the post.

Along with becoming the fastest song to reach a billion streams on Spotify, ‘Flowers’ was also number one on Billboard’s Hot 11 chart for eight nonconsecuitve weeks.

It was also on the Billboard Global 200 chart for 12 weeks, as well as the Global Exclusive US tally for 13 weeks. The song also became the most streamed song in a week for two weeks in a row.

Fans have speculated that ‘Flowers’ is about Miley’s life since her split from actor Liam Hemsworth.

The song references Bruno Mars’ ‘When I Was Your Man’, which is alleged to be the song Liam dedicated to Miley while they were in a relationship.

Last month, fans were on alert after rumors emerged that Cyrus may have released an album under the name Clara Pierce.

The speculation began after fans discovered an album called ‘Down With Me’, which was released the same day as Cyrus’ latest album. Several of the tracks shared similarities to some of Miley’s unreleased songs.

The songs were quickly removed from major streaming sites, with some fans wondering if it was another AI-generated music project.
