Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’ tops Pop Airplay charts
‘Flowers’ becomes pop star Miley Cyrus’ third single to reach #1 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay charts.
After just five weeks on the Pop Airplay chart, ‘Flowers’ by pop singer Miley Cyrus has already landed in the #1 spot.
The song debuted on the chart at #16 on January 28, making ‘Flowers’ the quickest song to take the top spot since Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ back in 2016.
Cyrus has made the #1 spot on the Pop Airplay charts twice in the past. Her single ‘Party in the U.S.A.’ spent a week at the top back in November 2009, and ‘Wrecking Ball’ led the charts for two weeks between November and December in 2013.
Cyrus’s single ‘Flowers’ is a hit even outside the Pop genre. It’s spent four weeks on Billboard’s genre-less chart, the Billboard Hot 100, making it Cyrus’ longest-leading #1 to date.
Miley Cyrus’ self-love anthem ‘Flowers’ tops the charts on Valentine’s Day
Earlier this week, Cyrus celebrated her hit single’s one-month release right before Valentine’s Day. Its success in topping the charts for four weeks straight breaks her previous record with ‘Wrecking Ball’, which spent three weeks at #1 for the Hot 100.
“To still be celebrating #1 on the Hot 100 & around the world is phenomenal. With Valentine’s Day coming up tomorrow this song feels even more meaningful to me,” Cyrus tweeted.
Fans are loving the pop sensation’s self-love message. One fan replied to Miley’s celebratory tweet: “Tomorrow I am painting my nails cherry red.. buying myself flowers.. and I’m gonna dance like nobody is watching.”
Cyrus and her upcoming album
Miley Cyrus announced her eighth studio album, ‘Endless Summer Vacation’, will be released on March 10th. Her last album, Purple Hearts, came out three years ago and had a track from the album at #1 on iTunes in every country around the world.
