Miley Cyrus tells the inside story of her ‘topless’ at the age of 15

The singer and actress posed for the magazine ‘Vanity Fair’ when she was a minor, photographed by Annie Leibovitz.

Miley Cyrus stands out as one of the most controversial figures on the international entertainment scene. Her music videos, her wardrobe choices, and her overall persona consistently capture public attention. Recently, she broke records with her song ‘Flowers,’ which was dedicated to her ex-partner, Liam Hemsworth.

¡Used to be Young¡ has Miley Cyrus reflecting

She has once again garnered media attention due to the release of her new song, ‘Used to be Young,’ and her candid discussion with the media about the controversial topless photo captured by Annie Leibovitz and published in Vanity Fair when she was just 15 years old.

The former leading actress of Hannah Montana spoke about what happened in 2008, when she was a minor and had already left her role on the Disney Channel behind. “Everyone knows the controversy of that photo, but they don’t know the truth that is hidden behind it, which is always much more important,” said the singer about the image, in which she appears with only a sheet covering her.

The truth about the Miley Cyrus photo

“My little sister, Noah, was sitting on Annie’s lap and actually pushing the button on the camera, taking the pictures,” the singer said. “My whole family was there.

And it was the first time I painted my lips red because Pati Dubroff, who did my makeup, thought it would be another element that would differentiate me from Hannah.”

Many parents expressed their complaints about it and both she and Disney Channel were forced to apologize for that image of a minor that shocked their followers. But she believes that what really causes the photo to bother so many people is the breakdown of the sweet girl image, more so than the fact that she is a minor. “Looking back, it seems to me that all those people made just brilliant decisions.”

“This picture has become a meme where it says ‘be the Miley of your friend group,’” Cyrus says. “If you guys didn’t know I was bisexual from this damn picture, I don’t know what’s wrong with you.”

I literally think we were leaving the Grammys to go to the Cheesecake Factory. Me and Emily, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato are going to the Cheesecake Factory. These are some classy ladies.”
