Another edition of the MTV Video Music Awards is almost upon us. The date has been moved forward to September 11, when the year’s top videos and performers in the music industry will be rewarded with MTV’s coveted ‘Spaceman’ statuette, at a ceremony in Elmont, New York. Held at the 19,000-capacity UBS Arena, the 2024 VMAs are scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT.

Who has the most VMA nominations?

With just over a month to go until the big night, the list of nominees has now been announced - and music fans can go ahead and cast their votes for the winners. Ahead of the 2024 gala, Taylor Swift leads the list of nominations with 10 nods, followed by Post Malone with nine. Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem and Ariana Grande are all up for six awards, and SZA and Megan Thee Stallion have five nominations each.

How can I vote for the 2024 VMAs?

Of the 21 award categories at the Video Music Awards, the public can vote for 16. They include the main awards, such as Artist of the Year and Video of the Year. The winners of the remaining categories, which are technical awards, will be chosen by a panel of experts.

To vote, simply go to the website vma.mtv.com, log in with a Google, X or email account, and select the artist or song of your choice in each available category. Once you’re done making your selections, don’t forget to click the “submit votes” button so the system can record your votes. Fans can vote up to 20 times per category per day, awards organisers say.

When does voting for the 2024 MTV VMAs close?

In 15 categories, fan voting will be open until Friday August 30. Voting for the winner of the Best New Artist award will remain open until during the ceremony.
