Natasha Rothwell returning in ‘The White Lotus’ season 3

Fans of ‘The White Lotus’ may be excited to learn that Natasha Rothwell, who played Belinda Lindsey in the first season, has been added to the cast for Season 3 of the hit HBO series.

Rothwell played the spa manager of the Hawaiian White Lotus resort, who was snubbed by Jennifer Coolidge’s character, Tanya, after promising to help Belinda launch her own private wellness center. Tanya didn’t deliver on the promise, and Belinda hasn’t been seen since.

Will Rothwell reprise her role as Belinda?

While Rothwell is returning to the series in the upcoming season, it hasn’t been officially confirmed if she will be reprising her role as Belinda, although it is heavily implied.

Belinda became a fan-favorite character, becoming a sort of therapist to Coolidge’s Tanya McQuoid, helping her deal with the death of her mother. Belinda became seen as a symbol of a hard-working member of society who becomes exploited by the uber-rich.

For the role, Rothwell earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2022 Emmy Awards. And while it’s not confirmed that she will bring Belinda back in Season 3, ‘The White Lotus’ creator Mike White has teased that the third season will take place in Thailand with a focus on spirituality–which is right up Belinda’s alley.

“I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus,” White said in a Season 2 finale clip.

Each season appears to have a different theme, with White saying that “The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex.”

And fortunately for Belinda, if she comes back, she doesn’t have to worry about getting her hopes dashed by Tanya again, who infamously died in the season 2 finale.

Aside from her success in ‘The White Lotus’, Rothwell is also known for playing Kelli in the HBO series ‘Insecure’, where she also writes, produces, and directs. She has been nominated for both an NAACP Image Award and an Emmy Award for the role.

Rothwell has also appeared in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, and voiced characters in ‘Bojack Horseman’, ‘Bob’s Burgers’, and ‘American Dad’.

In 2022, it was announced that she had received the green light for the upcoming series ‘How to Die Alone’, which she will write, act, and co-showrun with Vera Santamaria. The new series will stream on Hulu.
