The sixth season of the series based on the royal family portrays a college-age Prince William and Kate Middleton.
A new romance sparks in the sixth season of the Netflix series ‘The Crown’, a semi-fictional series based on the happenings of Buckingham Palace since the early days of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
This will be the final season of the popular Netflix series.
Fans can expect to see the developing romance between a young Prince William and Kate Middleton as they meet at college.
The first-look photos
Netflix has released first-look photos as the filming takes place.
The pictures show a college-age Prince William wearing jeans, a collared shirt, and blue sweater and Middleton in an oversized gray sweater and also jeans. The couple hold hands and smile at each other in one of the photos.
“A first look at Prince William (Ed McVey) and Kate Middleton (Meg Bellamy) from the sixth and final season of The Crown, coming 2023,” Netflix wrote in the caption of its official Twitter account.
The images are based in Scotland in the early 2000s. Prince William, played by Ed McVey, is seen as a freshman at St. Andrews University — as he sets out to live a “normal” life apart from the immense pressures of the royal family before he takes on his formal royal duties.
There he meets coed Kate Middleton from Berkshire, played by Meg Bellamy.

Imelda Staunton will return to her role as Queen Elizabeth II, as will Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne, and Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles.
Newcomers include Fflyn Edwards as Prince Harry, Bertie Carvel as Tony Blair, Salim Daw as Mohamed al Fayed, and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed.
