New Fast & Furious trailer for ‘Fast X’ released

‘Fast X’ is the latest installment in the Fast & Furious franchise

Update:
Fast X Vin Diesel

For fans waiting for a look at the upcoming Fast & Furious movie ‘Fast X,’ the wait is over. The first trailer for the highly anticipated movie was just released by Universal Pictures on Friday, giving fans a first look at the movie.

‘Fast X is the tenth movie in the Fast & Furious franchise and will have Fast & Furious mainstay Vin Diesel, as well as Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Jason Mamoa, John Cena, and more packing the list of A-List actors gracing the film.

The late Paul Walker also appeared in the trailer in a flashback sequence referring to the events in ‘Fast Five’ that drive the plot in ‘Fast X.’

With plenty of drama, heartfelt moments, and, of course, fast cars and explosions, the trailer reveals a taste of what the movie will bring when it hits theaters later this year on May 19.

The drive for vengeance in ‘Fast X’

The trailer reveals that after killing drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and destroying his empire in ‘Fast Five’, Reyes son Dante (played by Jason Mamoa) witnessed the event and has since spent the last twelve years of life plotting revenge against Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto.

“He’s very sadistic and androgynous and he’s a bit of a peacock… He’s got a lot of issues, this guy. He’s definitely got some daddy issues,” Mamoa told Variety about his character.

Mamoa was also excited about the chance of playing a villain after playing good guys throughout his career, most notably in the ‘Aquaman’ franchise.

“I’ve never played a character [that’s] evil and quirky and androgynous.”

In the trailer, Dante tells Dominc, “You built such a beautiful life filled with life, filled with love and family. I never got that chance. You stole that from me: my future, my family. And now, I’m gonna break yours piece by piece.” Hinting at just how affected he was when Dominic killed his father.

Director Louis Leterrier directs the blockbuster movie, and with movies such as ‘Transporter’ and ‘The Incredible Hulk’ under his belt, the franchise appears to be in good hands.
