Nikki Bella sets the record straight on marriage to Artem Chigvintsev

After online claims that her marriage to Artem Chigvintsev wasn’t legitimate, Nikki Bella has confirmed that she is legally married to the 40-year-old.

The two made things official in a Paris wedding ceremony surround by a small group of family and friends, as well as two-year-old son Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev as per E! News.

Nikki even confirmed the news by posting two images on her Instagram account - one of her and Artem’s wedding rings and another of them posing in front of the Eiffel Tower.

That wasn’t enough for some fans online who questioned whether the two were legally married, but Bella has come out and publicly declared that her marriage was official.

“We are [legally married],” she told ‘Watch What Happens Live’. “We have a license in Paris and we have a license in the U.S.

“I mean, it’s confidential so I don’t know if someone tried to search for it and couldn’t find it. We’re legally married, twice, in two countries.”

Nikki’s twin sister, Brie Bella, confirmed the news while serving as bartender on the Brave talk show: “I was witness to both.”

Nikki was engaged to John Cena

Having made her name as a wrestler with WWE, Nikki has left her athletic career behind due to a mixture of injuries and a desire to start a family.

Bella began dating fellow WWE performer John Cena in 2012, and the couple became engaged when Cena proposed to her following their tag-team match at Wrestlemania 33.

They planned to be married on May 5, 2018, but called off the engagement just a few weeks before the wedding date.

Bella then began dating ‘Dancing with the Stars’ partner Artem Chigvintsev. After announcing their engagement in January 2020, Nikki announced that she was expecting her first child. The pair later tied the knot in Paris in August 2022.

Son Matteo was ring bearer for wedding

Nikki revealed to E! News that Matteo was the ring bearer for the wedding, though things didn’t exactly go as planned as he never made it down the aisle.

“He was a ring bearer,” Nikki exclusively told E! News earlier this week. “Me and Artem are obsessed with The Nutcracker and the story and the music, so Matteo was coming down the aisle to The Nutcracker.

“A lot of drama happened around that. I just had this beautiful dream that my son would waltz down the aisle like his daddy in The Nutcracker and that did not happen. That was a lot of expectation for a 2-year-old.”
