If you’ve never seen Landman, you’re missing out. The Paramount+ show, released in November of last year, has taken the world by storm and is keeping the water cooler chat alive in ways that make us all happy.

A star-studded cast of Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter and Demi Moore has us glued to our screens, but fans have had the name of a lesser known star on their lips as the show goes on: Michelle Randolph.

Ainsley Norris, played by Randolph, is the daughter of Thornton’s character, Tommy, and is a strong-willed individual who regularly makes her feelings heard.

Who is Michelle Randolph?

The 27-year-old grew up in California and graduated from Arizona State University where she studied Film and Media Studies.

Randolph’s short career so far

She appeared in a number of minor projects before her breakout role came in 2022 as Elizabeth Stafford in the Taylor Sheridan series 1923.

From there she was cast in Landman, and has not looked back since.

In an interview with Deadline, Randolph admitted that it was “so hard” to accept the reception from fans on Norris “because you don’t know your full character. Knowing who she is in episode 10 was really hard when episode one was just coming out... We meet Ainsley and Angela at their most extreme, then we get to see them evolve."

‘If you don’t get to see the growth, then it’s not fun to watch'

Despite this, the young actress thinks firmly that Norris still has a lot of room to evolve, adding that “you don’t want to meet the fully evolved version of a character. If you don’t get to see the growth, then it’s not fun to watch. So I am thankful that we got to meet Ainsley at point A and hopefully by the time the show’s done, however many seasons, we’ll meet her at Z."

Will Landman have a second season?

Yes! Reports suggest that filming for Landman season 2 is set to start early this year. So we won’t have to wait long for a new fix of western drama madness.
