‘One Tree Hill’ actor Paul Teal dead at 35: cause of death confirmed
Emilia Torello, the actor’s fiancée, announced the sad news on her social media: “You were captured too soon, in a battle you fought bravely.”
The acting world is in mourning after learning of the death of actor Paul Teal at just 35 years old, following a long illness, as announced by Emilia Torello, his fiancée, through an emotional message on social media.
“The most thoughtful, inspiring, driven, self-disciplined, loving man passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024,” Torello announced on her Instagram page.
“Paul, you were my soulmate, my soon-to-be-husband, my rock, and my future. You filled my lungs with laughter, my stomach with butterflies, and my heart with love. You were taken too soon, in a battle that you fought bravely without fail,” the young woman added.
Paul Teal’s outstanding career
Paul Teal was born in Wilmington, South Carolina in 1989. His acting career started at the Opera House Theatre Company when he was just 12. He would go on to land roles in productions such as The Producers, West Side Story and Grey Gardens.
However he will always be remembered by his fans for playing Josh in the seventh season of the acclaimed series One Tree Hill. His co-star Bethany Joy Lenz took to social media to pay tribute to him: “My heart is heavy. Paul Teal was the kind of guy who lit up a room without trying. His bright smile, infectious laugh and kind heart made you want to be near him. With his self-effacing sense of humor and willingness to dive fully into any character, Paul was perfect for the part. He was a joy to work with in any environment and so generous. Life is short. I keep thinking that this week. Paul, your time here was like a summer romance for all of us who knew you, especially if only for a season. Bursting, exciting, deeply moving, and unforgettable. Thank you for sharing your light with us.””
Teal also starred alongside Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck in the film Deep Water. He also starred in Fear Street Part Two: 1978 (2021).
His fiancée told TMZ that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in April.
“While a part of me died with you, I promise to fight to find joy in life as hard as you fought to live every single day. The world is lucky to have even had a moment with Paul Teal, and I am the luckiest person in it, because I got to call you mine. I will love you forever.,” his fiancée concluded.
