Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hit back at claims they are planning to sue the show ‘South Park’ following the satirical cartoon’s depiction of them.

The couple seen in the episode ‘The Worldwide Privacy Tour’ are a parody of the Sussexes. In it, a red-haired prince and his wife with long, dark hair, are interviewed on ‘Good Morning Canada’ to promote the prince’s new book called ‘Waaagh’.

The royal couple spends the episode touring the world pleading for privacy.

“Isn’t it true, sir, that your questionable wife has her own TV show and hangs out with celebrities and does fashion magazines?,” asks the host, with the couple storming out soon after.

Reports had surfaced that Meghan was upset with the depiction, and that the couple were reportedly considering taking legal action.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s statement

However, a spokesperson has slammed those suggestions.

“This is baseless and boring,” a spokesperson told Newsweek.

This comes after U.S. royal commentator Kristen Meinzer told the outlet she doubted the Sussexes would turn to legal action.

“I highly doubt Meghan and Harry are suing a satirical cartoon that famously ridicules everyone,” she said.

“If anything, they’ll know they’re in good company with other decent people who’ve been raked over the coals by the show.

“For example, South Park has repeatedly ridiculed Al Gore and his efforts to combat climate change. They made fun of Steve Irwin for being killed by a stingray just a few weeks after his death.

“They turned Rob Reiner into a punchline because of his weight. They’ve never been a bastion of good taste, and they’ve absolutely been offensive, but again, they’re also a cartoon, not a news outlet—and Harry and Meghan are unlikely to take a cartoon to court.”

Markle reportedly refused to watch the entire episode

The statement doesn’t address what Markle thought of the episode.

Reports stated Meghan was upset and overwhelmed by the episode, to the point that she refused to watch all of it and asked that her lawyers look it over.

“[Markle is] annoyed by South Park but refuses to watch it all,” a source told the Spectator.
