The rapper known as both 6ix9ine and Tekashi69 was rushed to hospital for non-life threatening injuries to his face after a group of men attacked him while he visited an LA Fitness in Palm Beach, Florida on Tuesday.

The men responsible for the attack fled the scene once employees at the gym became aware of the disturbance. Video of the attack was spread online, showing the rapper bleeding from the nose.

Why was 6ix9ine attacked?

The motive for the attack against the rapper, real name Daniel Hernandez, is still unclear, but he is known for being involved in a series of feuds with fellow rappers. His lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, has only confirmed the extent of his injuries.

Lazzaro also said that the rapper was assaulted outside the sauna room at the gym by three or four men, and tried fighting back. After the police were called, he was transported to a local hospital via ambulance. It’s unclear if he is still at the hospital.

Viral videos of the incident have made the rounds on Twitter. The videos were recorded by the unknown men who assaulted the rapper, and one of them said: “Take a picture. I’m gonna be famous now.”

This situation comes after Hernandez was reportedly removed from the LoanDepot Park baseball stadium in Miami on Friday while watching the World Baseball Classic quarterfinal match between Mexico and Puerto Rico for being drunk and disorderly.

6ix9ine’s involvement in criminal activity

6ix9ine was also released from prison in 2020 for numerous charges, including racketeering, drug trafficking, and illegal possession of a firearm. The charges come as a result of his involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, an East coast gang related to the infamous Bloods gang from Los Angeles.

Since he’s been released from prison, he released the song ‘GOOBA’. The song’s lyrics allude to the rapper’s cooperation with federal prosecutors, which he did in order to receive a lesser sentence.

In unsealed court documents at the time of his trial in 2019, the rapper admitted to being an accessory to murder and apologized for hurting his friends and family for his involvement in gangs.
