Reese Witherspoon tells fans to expect “lots of romance” in upcoming season of ‘The Morning Show’
While no premiere date has been announced for the new season, Witherspoon says filming is all but done.
Expect plenty of romance in Season 3 of the hit AppleTV+ series ‘The Morning Show’, at least according to star and executive producer Reese Witherspoon.
The 46-year-old, who plays news anchor Bradley Jackson on the hit show, spoke with Entertainment Tonight while walking the red carpet for the season three premiere of another Apple TV+ drama, ‘Truth Be Told’.
Along with revealing that shooting for the new season is almost complete, Witherspoon made it clear that romance will be a main focus.
“I will say, there is lots of romance this year,” said Witherspoon. “We’re nearly done shooting Season 3. It’s so good. We obviously added Jon Hamm, which has been so fun. We have all these new cast members who have just upped the game.
Season 2 of the ‘The Morning Show’ introduced journalist Laura Peterson (played by Julianna Marguiles) as a potential love interest for Witherspoon’s character. The two shared an unexpected kiss in the back of a car, with the two then beginning a secret affair.
It was the first time the sexuality of Witherspoon’s character has been explored, as the first season hinted at a possible romance between her and boss Cory Ellison (played by Billy Crudrup).
Endless possibilities for ‘The Morning Show’
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Kerry Ehrin made it clear that everything is on the table in terms of what direction the show will head in.
“You could [go 10 years forward]. You could go backwards. It’s such an interesting little universe,” said Ehrin in November 2021. “You really can put it anywhere in time, and I think the challenge of the show is coming up with that big subject.
“Because, those are real subjects. They’re not fabricated. They’re pulled from all of our lives and they greatly impacted all of us, and I think that’s always the challenge of the show.”
When will season 3 of “The Morning Show’ debut
Apple TV+ renewed ‘The Morning Show’ for Season 3 back in January 2022. Although Witherspoon revealed that filming for the new season is close to completing, no premiere date has yet been announced.
