Revealed: The three actors Marvel is considering to play T’Challa in ‘Black Panther 3
Aaron Pierre is practically ruled out, having joined James Gunn’s DC Universe in the ‘Lanterns’ series.
The unfortunate death of Chadwick Boseman left the role of T’challa vacant, and he held the title of Black Panther in the first ‘Black Panther’. However, the actor’s unexpected death made Shuri (Letitia Wright) the protagonist of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’.
Now, with the third installment officially confirmed, Marvel Studios is thinking about the king of Wakanda again, and specifically they have thought of three actors for the role..
One of the candidates is John David Washington, son of Denzel Washington who himself will star in ‘Black Panther 3′-, and who has made a name for himself thanks to films such as ‘Tenet’, directed by Christopher Nolan, or the most recent ‘The Creator’, the science fiction work directed by Gareth Edwards.
Another candidate to consider is (or has been) Kelvin Harrison Jr., a young actor who we have seen in ‘Chevalier’, ‘Waves’ or ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’.
The third in contention, and as we said before, it seems unlikely, is Aaron Pierre (‘Rebel Ridge’). Pierre has already been chosen to become John Stewart, a member of the Green Lantern Corps in the DCU series ‘Lanterns’. Obviously, this practically rules him out from joining the Marvel series due to the rivalry between the two studios.
What Marvel movies and series are coming this year?
After a 2024 of necessary rest for superhero productions, in which there has not been much, both Marvel and DC are back in action in 2025. On the Marvel Studios side, we will be able to enjoy ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ this February, while in March the Man Without Fear will return in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, the series that will premiere on Disney+.
Other productions in the coming months are ‘Thunderbolts’, ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’, ‘Ironheart’ or ‘Wonderman’. As for animated series, ‘Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man’ will premiere on January 29, followed later by ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ and ‘Marvel Zombies’.
