Rihanna gearing up for Super Bowl Halftime show in new teaser
The excitement continues to grow after Rihanna released a new teaser ahead of Super Bowl Sunday.
Rihanna is busy preparing for her Super Bowl Halftime show on February 12 in Glendale, Arizona, releasing a new teaser for her concert.
The 34-year-old gave fans a glimpse of what they can expect in terms of her attire, donning a jersey and red beanie from her Game Day Collection.
“Pre gaming in @SavageXFenty,” she wrote on her Twitter account. The video shows her staring down the camera while buzzers can be heard in the background.
“We know what team we’re reppin,” her brand wrote back. The website has also added to the anticipation, adding: “Get ready for Rihanna’s big performance (we heard there’s also a football game happening?) and rep Savage X with this collection of limited-edition jerseys, hats, and more!”
Rihanna announced a special Game Day collection in January ahead of her upcoming Super Bowl Sunday performance. Fans have been quick to purchase items, with several items already sold out, including a shirt with the words “Rihanna concert interrupted by a football game, weird but whatever” written in bold black letters across a photo of Rihanna in a helmet on the inside.
The collection features 17 pieces with prices ranging from $32.95 to $112.95 for non-VIP members ($24.95 and up for VIP members).
Jersey Rihanna wears in teaser is also sold out
Rihanna is wearing a two-tone jersey in the teaser that features the singer’s signature over a large X, though you’ll have a hard time finding it online as its now completely sold out.
The singer previously released a 30-second clip back on January 13, which features her slowly making her way down a lit runway while audio snippets of people asking the long wait for new music plays in the background.
“Dude Rihanna, we’ve waited for you,” says one voice, while another asks: “RiRi, where have you been?!”
The voices then begin to overlap one another before the room turns dark and Rihanna is seen standing in the spotlight in a black catsuit and large yellow fur coat.
It ends with Rihanna raising her finger to her mouth to shush the crowd, while the song ‘Needed Me’ plays in the background.
Rihanna initially announced her Super Bowl performance back in September with an image of her holding a football on Instagram with no caption.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage,” NFL Head of Music Seth Dudowsky said in a statement, per ‘The Hollywood Reporter’. “Rihanna is a once-in-a-generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career. We look forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another historic Halftime Show performance.”
