Rihanna set to perform at the 2023 Oscars. What song will she be performing?

After taking the stage for the Super Bowl LVII halftime show, Rihanna will join an exclusive group of performers as she’s set to perform at the upcoming 2023 Oscars.
The performance will fall exactly one month after the singer performed at the Super Bowl, which saw 118.7 million viewers take in the show.
Rihanna is set to perform her hit song ‘Lift Me Up’ from the Academy Award-nominated ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’.
The song was written by Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Göransson as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who played Black Panther in the franchise. He died in August 2020 after a years-long battle with colon cancer.
It was Rihanna’s first solo single in six years, and peaked at No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100 when it was released in October. It helped the singer secure her first Oscar nomination in the Best Original Song Category.
Rihanna will join elite company
Rihanna’s music streams surged following her Super Bowl halftime performance, with individual songs spiking by as much as 2600 percent, while her overall streams on Spotify rose 640 percent within the hour after the game ended.
It also resulted in five old albums re-entering the Billboard 200 chart, the first time that has happened in her career. In fact, she became just the seventh artist in the last 50 years to hold five album spots simultaneously.
Her upcoming Oscars performance will also see her join a short group of entertainers who have performed at both the Super Bowl and the Oscars in the same year.
Back in 2000, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias and Toni Braxton were joined by Phil Collins during the 2000 Super Bowl halftime show.
Collins later performed ‘You’ll Be in My Heart’ from ‘Tarzan’ at the 72nd Academy Awards later that year.
Lady Gaga sang the American national anthem at the 2016 Super Bowl. In February 2016, she performed her song ‘Til It Happens to You’ from the ‘Hunting Ground’ soundtrack.
